Parametric analysis of the dynamic response of railway bridges due to vibrations induced by heavy-haul trains

This article presents a numerical study that aims to explore the dynamic behavior of railway bridges under vibrations induced by heavy-haul traffic. For this purpose, finite element code can conduct moving load and mass analysis single span was developed. The software validated comparing response analytical solution for various speeds. benchmark bridge train showed interplay between natural frequency bridge, loading frequency. A comprehensive parametric investigate impact different parameters on is also provided. length, normalized train, deck stiffness, speed are variables considered in study. results extensive analyses improve understanding trains, highlight inertial effect trains bridges, especially varying length stiffness. It demonstrated that, when train-to-bridge ratio exceeds 40%, effects needs be included order obtain reliable estimate
